School District 197 offers competitive benefits for all eligible employees. A summary of benefits is below; new employees will be provided with detailed information during their new-hire orientation.  

HEALTH PLANS
District 197 offers two options for health insurance through PreferredOne. The coverage for each plan — Custom Network or Open Access Network 200 — is identical; the difference between the two plans are the provider options. 

The 2016-17 monthly rates for each plan:

DENTAL PLAN INFORMATION
Dental insurance is available through Delta Dental of MN to all employees eligible to receive benefits. Single and family coverage is offered. There is one plan available, but services by dentists who are in the "Delta Dental PPO" category may be covered differently than dentists who are in the "Delta Dental Premier" category. 

Find which category your dentist is in by going to the Delta Dental's website. Then select either Delta Premier and Delta PPO Plan from the Network dropdown.

Diagnostic and preventative services are covered 100% by dentists in both the PPO and Premiere categories. For full explanations of service coverage, please log into the Staff Intranet - Employee Benefits page for more information and forms. 



FLEXIBLE SPENDING PLAN INFORMATION
The Flexible Spending Plan permits employees to reclassify a portion of their paycheck into a pre-tax position. The employee can choose to contribute to a Medical Flexible Spending Account (Medical FSA) and/or a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (Dependent Care FSA). The money the employee elects to contribute is deducted from their paycheck on a regular schedule.


LIFE INSURANCE INFORMATION
Term life insurance is available through Madison National Life for employees eligible to receive benefits. The amount of coverage is outlined in your bargaining agreement. A voluntary supplemental life insurance policy is available to employees who meet eligibility requirements, at the employee’s expense.


LONG-TERM DISABILITY (LTD) INSURANCE INFORMATION 
Long-term disability insurance is provided through Madison National Life for employees eligible to receive benefits. Through LTD insurance, compensation may be available if an employee is unable to work because of sickness or injury. If qualified, benefit payments of up to 66-2/3% of the employee's monthly income can begin after a 60-day period of total disability. 


403b 
A 403b plan is a tax deferred retirement program that permits an employee to reduce their compensation on a pre-tax basis and have the deferral deposited into a 403b account that the employee sets up with a 403b vendor. Please refer to your bargaining group contract for information regarding possible district matching contribution toward your 403b plan.
